Creamline continues to assert its dominance with its 18th straight victory after melting Chery Tiggo, 25-17, 25-17, 25-20, in the PVL All-Filipino Conference on Thursday at PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.

The Cool Smashers turned to Bea de Leon who tendered a team-high 13 points to keep the reigning All-Filipino queens’ perfect record intact at 8-0.

“Personally, I just really want to aim for consistency, so I came into this game with a strong mindset and full focus,” De Leon said. “With the help of my teammates, we all wanted the same thing. Especially when we were up by two sets, we pushed even harder to finish it in three. With my teammates’ support, anything is possible.”

“This win is a big boost for us. We’re happy we closed it in three sets,” said coach Sherwin Meneses, referring to their previous game where Cignal pushed the Cool Smashers to a marathon clash. “Last time, we didn’t exactly relax in the third set, but the opponent managed to take it. That game taught us a lesson, so I’m really thankful to the players for responding well this time.”

Despite the straight sets loss, Chery Tiggo didn’t let Creamline run it over easily, tailing the Cool Smashers closely even until the final frame.

Alyssa Valdez unleashed a kill from a lethal combination attack for the game. Chery Tiggo tried to challenge for a net fault to buy more time but it was deemed unsuccessful.

Ara Galang was the only Crossover to reach twin digits with 14 points but it was not enough to keep Chery Tiggo from suffering a second straight defeat to a 5-5 standing.

Creamline aims to keep steamrolling its opponents as the tail end of the preliminary round looms with Farm Fresh up next on Feb. 11 still at PhilSports Arena.
