PLDT ended Creamline’s unbeaten streak in the PVL All-Filipino Conference with a 30-28, 25-21, 23-25, 18-25, 16-14 grind out victory on Saturday at Ynares Center in Antipolo.
The High Speed Hitters handed the Cool Smashers their first loss in 19 games, a streak that dates back to the 2024 Reinforced and Invitational conferences.

Savi Davison led the upset with a career-best 34 points, highlighted by five blocks, in an inspired showing for PLDT, which improved to 7-3 and tied for third with Choco Mucho and Cignal.
“I’m tired but very glad. My team held out in the fifth set,” said Davison. “I’m just proud of how hard we worked to get this win.”

Dell Palomata and Fiola Ceballos anchored the High Speed Hitters’ defensive stand with a well-timed block on Tots Carlos’ final attack attempt sealing the victory.
The High Speed Hitters had to claw back from a 5-8 deficit in the fifth set and hang tough after squandering a 13-9 lead as Creamline forced at deuce.

Davison’s clutch attack fittingly put PLDT ahead for good before the game-winning defensive stop on Carlos.
Majoy Baron also delivered against the league leaders, finishing with 15 points, including three crucial blocks. Ceballos scored 14, while Mika Reyes and Erika Santos contributed 12 and 11 points, respectively.
The Cool Smashers, meanwhile, drew 23 points from Bernadeth Pons and 16 from Carlos in the losing effort that sent them to a tie with streaking Petro Gazz with identical 9-1 cards.
PLDT has a chance to fuel its momentum against ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles in Iloilo on Saturday while Creamline tries to bounce back when it faces Galeries Tower on Thursday at Philsports Arena.
