CAINTA, Rizal — Barely a day after capturing his first ever Open trophy, Jasper Hubilla of Sletba-GMTBC bagged his second finals crown in the 9th GMTBC ICS/KwikPrint Open Championship in Sta. Lucia East Grand Mall Bowling Center here.

Showing no sign of fatigue after ruling the Mixed Classified Masters division on Friday, Hubilla did not let up as he dominated the Mixed Rising Stars finals held Saturday morning.

Hubilla, 27, posted a total score of 1467 in the 7-game finals to pull away from Boyzee Zarraga of Sletba with 1395, Ashton Lorenzo of Sletba-GMTBC, 1386; Josie Guevarra of PBA, 1341, and Cedric Barrientos of Sletba, 1337.

Like his Friday’s games, Hubilla, who considers himself as a beginner, kept himself in the thick of the fight right from the start.

He rolled a 204 in the first game to place fourth, with the 13-year-old Cedric Barrientos scoring 216 to pace the field.

But he kept a steady poise during the ensuing games to nail his second title.

The tournament is holding the finals of the Mixed Senior Masters at this time. On Sunday, March 9, it will stage the finals of the Women’s Masters and the Open Masters division.
