“I think what I saw outside was that it felt like the connection between everyone was lost. It seemed like they were all there, but then there was a lack of respect for the opponent,” said Soreño in Filipino. “In the third set, we made sure to address the mistakes we made in the second set and bounce back strong in the third.”

The senior spiker proved she’s always ready to step up for La Salle after subbing out for Shevana Laput, who struggled with eight points in the first two sets.

“I just did my part as a senior. I’m always there for Shev, and whenever Coach Ramil calls me to play, I’m ready. It’s because that’s really been my role from the start. I truly stood by the trust that was given to me,” she said.
As they face rival Ateneo on Wednesday, Soreño is eager to work on their lapses.
“As Coach Noel (Orcullo) and Angel (Canino) said, we really need to work harder. Especially after what happened in today’s game, we need to polish what went wrong in this game and apply it when we face Ateneo,” said Soreño.
