MANILA, Philippines — Brooke Van Sickle may have played a starring role in Petro Gazz’s historic PVL All-Filipino Conference title run, but she is sharing all the credit with her teammates.
Van Sickle poured in 21 points, 18 excellent receptions, and nine digs as Petro Gazz stopped Creamline’s five-peat bid with a title-clinching 25-21, 25-16, 23-25, 25-19 win in a winner-take-all Game 3 on Saturday night at Philsports Arena.

“My team accepted me. They brought me in with loving arms. They made me feel so welcomed and comforted and loved,” Van Sickle said.
“I’m not the missing piece, it’s everyone. We’re all part of the puzzle. Everything’s just clicking at the right moments. We’re learning from each other. We’re just building those relationships and we have great team chemistry.”

“Everyone’s leading themselves. Rem [Palma] is doing a great job. Our coaching staff is amazing, even management. It took time, but now look what we were able to do. We kept believing, and we kept pushing ourselves. With that, we were able to reach our goals.”
It took four tries for the Angels to get their break through All-Filipino crown in three times, having lost to Creamline in 2019, 2022, and 2023.

Which makes the title even sweeter for the two-time conference MVP and Petro Gazz, as they finally found a way to neutralize the defending champions and the league’s most successful club.
“It was our time. I feel like this is I’m dreaming. And I don’t want to be pinched. It’s unreal,” Van Sickle said. “And to be able to make history like this is insane. Wetried our hardest, we believed, and we were able to get the results we wanted. So, it makes it much better.”
Petro Gazz is the first team to beat Creamlinme in the Open/All-Filipino finals series since Chery Tiggo did it the 2021 PVL bubble in Ilocos Norte.
