During Koshigaya’s bout with Mikawa last January, Sotto, who was already surging for the Alphas, went down with a freak accident that resulted in in the ACL tear,

Prior to the injury, though, Sotto found his groove in the Japanese league with averages of 13.8 points, 9.6 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.1 blocks per game.

After seeing glimpses of what Sotto can do in the big league, Koshigaya easily reached an agreement to continue their partnership for next season.

In his imminent return to the court, Sotto gave his word to “come back stronger,” and help Koshigaya reach “the next level.”

“Last season was cut short for me due to injury, so I feel like I haven’t fully fulfilled my job in this team,” said Sotto.

“Thank you to the coaches and the Alphas staff for never losing their trust in me and offering me this wonderful opportunity to represent this city once again. Now, I signed for another year to play for the Alphas. I’ll come back stronger and better and help take this team to the next level.”
