LAS VEGAS–Eumir Marcial had a rousing return in the pro circuit on Saturday (Sunday in Manila) in the curtain raiser of Manny Pacquiao-Mario Barrios at MGM Grand Arena here.

Marcial extended his unbeaten record to 6-0 with four knockouts after stopping American Bernard Joseph in the third round of their 163-pound catchweight bout.

After a slow start, Marcial found his groove and let Joseph feel his punching power with crunching body shots.

The Zamboanga City native connected on a hook that dropped Joseph in the second round.

The 29-year-old Marcial continued to pummel Joseph downstairs in the third, sending him to the canvas again with a left. This time, Joseph failed to get back up as the referee halted the bout at the 1:55 mark.

With the victory, the Tokyo Olympics bronze medalist moved closer to a title shot.
