MANILA, Philippines — Justine Jazareno earned her first international award in her first Alas Pilipinas’ major tournament.
Jazareno was crowned the SEA V-League second leg Best Libero on Sunday night in Ninh Binh, Vietnam.

The Akari Charger, who appeared in her second national team stint after the VTV Cup, was rewarded for her steady floor defense for the Filipino Spikers.
Jazareno’s individual award was the cherry on top of Alas’ fourth straight bronze medal finish in the tournament after beating Indonesia, 25-17, 25-17, 28-26.
The 25-year-old Jazareno joined teammate Dawn Macandili-Catindig (2019) and Creamline’s Kyla Atienza (2022) as Filipinos to win Best Libero in the SEA V-League.

Vietnam’s Nguyen Thi Bich Nguyen was the MVP of the second leg after ending Thailand’s eight-tournament reign and 26-game winning streak with an epic 17-25, 24-26, 25-17, 25-22, 16-14 comeback in the gold medal match.
Tuyen also won her third Best Opposite Spiker in the tournament, headlining Best Outside Spikers Chatchu-on Moksri of Thailand and Vi Thi Nhu Quyn, Best Middle Blockers Tran Thi Bich Thuy and Wimonrat Thanapan, and now four-time Best Setter Pornpun Guedpard.
