“Our Alas Men’s team is in Portugal and Romania, they’re working so hard so that they can improve our level and I hope we can really play better for the World Championships,” PNVF president Tats Suzara told the reporters after a successful World Championship kickoff on Wednesday at SM Mall of Asia Music Hall.
Suzara also said Alas Pilipinas’ final roster for the World Championship will be confirmed two days before the compeititon.
Alas Pilipinas men faces world No. 41 Tunisia on opening day at MOA Arena, followed by a historic opening ceremony headlined by K-Pop group BOYNEXTDOOR.

Preparations are fully in place for the country’s first solo hosting of the 32-nation tournament, with the Local Organizing Committee—co-chaired by Vinny Marcos, Senator Alan Peter Cayetano, and Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco—receiving support from the government and other stakeholders.
“As hosts, I believe we’re fully prepared. What we need now is a stronger push in promoting ticket sales, especially for the matches that may not be as popular as the others. We’re offering special ticket packages for schools, students, and LGUs.
“We have one month left before Philippines vs. Tunisia, and the opening ceremony is a major highlight. We want everyone to be part of it.”
Suzara encouraged fans to watch the historic games in Manila, which will feature defending champion Italy, world No. 1 Poland, Brazil, Slovenia, and crowd favorites Japan and the United States.
“I think with 30 days to go, we’re ready. The volleyball fans are ready, too,” said Suzara. Tickets for the event are available at philippineswch2025.com.
