MANILA, Philippines —PVL president Ricky Palou confirmed that Alas Pilipinas players can finally suit up in the Invitational after getting clearance from the Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF).

Alleiah Malaluan, the No. 9 overall pick in the 2025 PVL Rookie Draft, made her pro debut for PLDT, while libero Jennifer Nierva started for Chery Tiggo on Thursday at Philsports Arena.

“President Tats Suzara of PNVF released the players to the clubs, so they were allowed to play. I think they had a meeting the other night, that’s when he announced that all the national team players could go back to their clubs and play,” Palou told the reporters.

“The national team period is up to October 15, but there are no more games. It was why hold them? So that’s what we were discussing with President Tats Suzara. He is very accommodating.”

PLDT’s Dell Palomata and Cignal’s Vanie Gandler and Dawn Catindig, who were also listed on their teams’ rosters, have yet to see action.

Palou, also PNVF vice president, assured that the Alas players will continue training for the 33rd Southeast Asian Games in Thailand in December.

“I think, yeah, they will be practicing. I think that the teams will allow the national team players to train with the national team three times a week until the end of this tournament. After that, they also plan to train abroad but they’re looking for a schedule for when they can do that,” he said.

“Our Reinforced Conference will end at the end of November. During the Reinforced Conference, where it’s going on, the players will still practice with the national team three times a week.”
