MANILA, Philippines—Jeffrey Cariaso, one of the newest members of the 50 PBA Greatest Players, has no doubt that the league will expand its coveted list “sooner and not later.”

Cariaso thinks that despite the PBA adding 10 more to the prestigious club, there are still “a lot of names that should be considered and recognized.”

Among those who deserve to be on the list, according to Cariaso, are names he’s very familiar with.

“To be honest, I’m sure sooner and not later, they’re going to add on to this list because they have to. There’s a lot of names that I think should be considered and recognized,” said the Blackwater coach, who won eight PBA titles during his playing career including a Grand Slam with Alaska in 1996.

“A couple names I have in mind are guys that played during my time like Olsen Racela, Gerry Esplana and guys in my past like Dennis Espino and Jun Limpot.”

The 52-year-old Cariaso may be ecstatic to be hailed as one of the PBA’s best players in the past 50 years but he would love to see more added to the list in the future.

“I’m sure they will be recognized in their own time much like vets I had like Al Solis, Glenn Capacio, who are guys who I think have made a mark in the PBA and made the league what it is now,” he said.

“I’m honestly very honored and blessed. I appreciate the recognition. I played 15 years ago so it’s been a long time since I’ve ran up and down the court but to be recognized 15 years later with the 15-year career I had is very honorable.”
