Cignal’s Erika Santos named PVL on Tour MVP

MANILA, Philippines — Erika Santos immediately made an impact after joining the Cignal HD Spikers, and now she also has an award to show for it.

Santos, Cignal’s offseason recruit, reaped the hardware of her breakthrough as the first-ever PVL on Tour MVP, leading the preseason’s All-Premier team.

The 25-year-old opposite spiker became Cignal’s second PVL MVP after former member Ces Molina won the award in the 2023 Invitational Conference.

Santos soared in the On Tour as the top scorer with a total of 87 points–including a 30-point career game–and  shone as the best spiker with 37.50 percent attack rate.

Meanwhile, Creamline’s Alyssa Valdez won her ninth Best Outside Spiker award, making her comeback to the All-Premier team since the 2023 Invitationals. She was 10th in scoring with a total of 69 points, seventh in spiking with a 31.75% success rate, ninth in service with 0.32 aces per set, and 10th in receptions with 35.12% efficiency.

Petro Gazz’s resurgent star Myla Pablo also bagged her first Best Outside Spiker plum for the first time in three years, earning her fifth overall trophy for the position after leading her team in scoring and top six in the league with 71 points built on 65 kills, five blocks, and an ace.

Farm Fresh’s Trisha Tubu remained the league’s Best Opposite Spiker with her third-consecutive honor after emerging as fourth best scorer with 77 points, fourth best spiker with 36-16% attack rate, and ninth best blocker with 0.50 blocks per set.

Kath Arado earned her fourth PVL Best Libero after topping the receiving with 63.16% efficiency and digging departments with 5.38 digs per set to lead PLDT to its first-ever final in the pros.

Another awardee from PLDT was Majoy Baron, who bagged her third PVL Best Middle Blocker award after a league-leading 0.81 kills blocks per set average, while Creamline’s Pangs Panaga is still the winningest in the position with her seventh overall Best Middle Blocker plum with 0.79 kill blocks per set.

Kyle Negrito became a four-time conference Best Setter after leading all playmakers with 6.74 excellent sets per frame and being fourth in service with 0.42 aces per set
