There’s legitimate concern on the condition of Rain or Shine veteran Beau Belga after he was forced to leave his team’s loss to TNT in the PBA Philippine Cup on Wednesday due to his lingering bout with vertigo.

Coach Yeng Guiao said the Elasto Painters will reevaluate Belga after he lay down to the floor late in the second quarter after experiencing sudden dizziness despite already wearing goggles for the second straight game.

Belga was later seen needing the help of two Rain or Shine staff members to get to his car after the 111-103 loss at Ynares Center in Antipolo City.

“We’re aware that he had all the approval, the go-signal from his doctors so we’re not going to put him in a dangerous situation,” said Guiao. “So maybe we need to confirm again with regards to what the doctor’s recommendations are.

Guiao added that the vibe was positive since Belga “has been practicing well” and had already played three games since missing the early part of the conference due to the condition.

Vertigo is a sensation of spinning or motion, often described as feeling like the world is moving around you. It’s a symptom, not a disease, and can be caused by various factors, often related to the inner ear or the brain’s ability to process balance information.

Rain or Shine fell to 4-3 after squandering an early 14-point lead as TNT eventually caught up behind its defense.
