The young Nationals were sent to the qualifying phase after finishing with a 1-2 record in Group B following a blowout loss to New Zealand on Tuesday.

Gilas Men also lost two of their three games in the group stage, arranging a qualifying match against Saudi Arabia. Behind Justin Brownlee’s heroics, Gilas outlasted Saudi Arabia, 95-88, in overtime to advance to the quarters, where it lost to eventual champion Australia.
