The Inquirer Sports Trivia Throwdown gets off on March 14, an event that will run a full season and will be capped by a grand championship in December.
The bar-hopping contest will feature five tag teams per leg who will compete for championship belts and other prizes and an outright spot to the grand finale at the end of the year.

Each leg will feature three tiers, with teams getting eliminated until only two remain.
Surprise powerups will provide dramatic twists to every quiz night as the participants try to outmaneuver each other for the top prize.
Registration to the event, the quiz format and the venue of the pilot leg will be announced on all Inquirer platforms soon.

More than just a test of sports knowledge, Inquirer Sports Trivia Throwdown will sport a professional wrestling atmosphere, with champions of each leg defending their belts in the next staging of the contest.
Inquirer Sports online reporter Rommel Fuertes Jr. will host the contest.
