MANILA, Philippines—Rhenz Abando is coming home. At least, to his old club in the Korean Basketball League.

After months without a contract, Abando finally inked one for a trip back to Anyang in the KBL.

After his contract had expired with the Red Boosters last year, Abando didn’t sign with another team except for Strong Group Athletics to represent the Philippines in the 2025 William Jones Cup.

The Letran product became a beloved figure for Anyang, which he helped win the 2023 KBL title.

In that season, the high-flying forward averaged 8.4 points, 2.7 rebounds and a block per game in his rookie year in the Korean league.

His run with Anyang, however, did not go smoothly after he suffered a back injury that sidelined him for months.

Fully recovered and back to his usual form, Abando is all set for his Anyang homecoming.
