MANILA, Philippines—Filipino basketball rising star Kevin Quiambao reached another milestone in his young basketball career.
Quiambao became the first Filipino to have a player edition basketball shoe with global brand adidas dubbed the Adizero Select 3.0 “KQ63.”
“I’m very excited to be a part of this collaboration with both the brand and Quiccs as I continue my journey as an athlete,” said Quiambao, pertaining to the sneaker designed by Filipino toy designer and streetwear artist Quiccs.

“It’s been a privilege to have played a part in this player edition footwear, and it has served as one of the biggest inspirations for me to keep working and playing hard on the court.”
The sneaker sports a dominant pink upper, paying homage to Quiambao’s La Salle days when he used to rock pink shoes in almost every game with the Green Archers.
“I feel very honored not only to have worked with him but also to have another opportunity to represent Filipino artistry once more,” Quiccs said.
The sneaker hits shelves on Independence Day and will retail for P5,800.
The world, however, had already seen a glimpse of it in the NBA two months ago.

Jalen Green of the Houston Rockets debuted the sneaker during the team’s Filipino Heritage Night against fellow Filipino-American Jordan Clarkson and the Utah Jazz on April 3.
Green had 22 points, four rebounds, two assists and a steal in the Rockets’ 143-105 romp of the Jazz.
After winning a UAAP championship and two MVPs with La Salle, Quiambao took his talents to South Korea in the Korean Basketball League with the Goyang Sono Skygunners.
He averaged 16.9 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.3 steals in 23 games in his first season with Goyang, which recently inked him to a three-year extension.
Armed with lofty dreams as he bids to make the NBA, the 24-year-old Quiambao is set for training camp in the United States in hopes of possible cracking an NBA Summer League squad.
In October of last year, another Filipino basketball star in Kiefer Ravena, who plays for the Yokohama B-Corsairs in the B.League, unveiled a Player-Exclusive sneaker with Jordan Brand.
