MANILA, Philippines—College of St. Benilde continued to look like the juggernaut in the NCAA Season 100 men’s basketball tournament after staying unblemished after three games.

At San Juan Arena on Saturday, the Blazers trashed Emilio Aguinaldo College, 77-55, to stay atop the league ladder at 3-0.

“We prepare for every game,” said coach Charles Tiu after their third straight win, an obvious statement that’s proven true every time the Blazers took the court this season.

“We coach the guys hard, we coach them to a different standard because we want to be an excellent team so we can never be satisfied with how we play.”

Tony Ynot continued to show his stardom at Benilde with another all-around game of 16 points, seven rebounds, two assists and a steal. Fellow former San Beda cager Justine Sanchez also dropped 14 points with six rebounds.

Tiu emphasized his gratitude to both former Red Lions for picking up the slack for a struggling Allen Liwag, who only scored seven points built on a lowly 27.3 percent shooting clip.

“Tony and Justine, they stepped up and played well even without Allen having his best offensive game,” he said.

King Gurtiza (13) and Harvey Pagsanjan (10) combined for 23 points for the Generals’ backcourt firepower but to no avail as they dropped to 1-2.

After absorbing a tough loss at the hands of the Blazers a few days ago, San Beda bounced back in a huge way by defeating a streaky San Sebastian squad.

The Red Lions defeated the Stags, 85-75, to improve to a 2-1 card while breaking San Sebastian’s two-game win streak.

Yukien Andrada posted a double-double of 21 points and 11 rebounds but it was Bryan Sajonia who top scored in the San Beda dub with 26 big points and eight rebounds to match.

San Sebastian dropped to an identical 2-1 card but not without Reggz Gabat turning in 19 points in the process. Raymart Escobido also registered 14 points and seven rebounds but it was all for naught.
