MANILA, Philippines–Lyceum wingman JM Bravo breathed heavily but lay motionless on the floor following a dangerous head-to-head collision with Arellano guard Renzo Abiera in the waning moments of their game Saturday in the NCAA Season 100 men’s basketball tournament.

Good thing Bravo snapped out of his unconsciousness and was able to speak again at the dugout after he was stretchered out of the court with just eight seconds remaining.

It gave the entire Filoil EcoOil Arena in San Juan cold sweat considering that Bravo just returned from a long layoff in the first round due to an injured spine.

Bravo lost his footing in a rebound scuffle and banged his head with Abiera’s as he was about to hit the deck.

He was later brought to the Cardinal Santos Medical Center nearby and will undergo a CT scan.

Bravo will be under concussion protocol for 48 hours before being cleared to play, according to NCAA Season 100 management committee chair Hercules Callanta.

The Pirates offered prayers for the 6-foot-2 in a huddle even as Lyceum coach Gilbert Malabanan was seen sobbing on the bench.

JL Capulong powered his way to a career-high 30 points and 16 rebounds in leading the Chiefs to a 91-86 win over the Pirates, securing Arellano’s fourth victory in 12 games that temporarily pulled them out of the pits.

John Barba led the Pirates with 18 points and Bravo had 17 for a 6-6 win-loss record
