Dottie Ardina finished birdie-eagle for a third round three-under-par 69 on Friday to make a big jump on the women’s golf competition leaderboard of the Paris Olympics, still way out of the medal race but with a lot of pride given to the golfing population back home.
The pocket-sized Canlubang native actually rebounded from a double bogey 5 on the 16th to chalk up her best performance of the week and leave some of the game’s more established international stars behind.

Counting efforts of 76 and 72, Ardina now has a 54-hole 217 aggregate when she tees off the final round where anything—as proven the whole week—is capable of happening at the winding, water hazard-laden Le Golf National layout.
Teammate Bianca Pagdanganan was working on a level par card after 10 holes as of posting time, just six shots off the leader being held by Switzerland’s Morgane Metraux, with Lydia Ko of New Zealand just two strokes behind.
