TNT got a huge lift from returning Almond Vosotros in setting up a 94-70 rout of depleted NorthPort on Friday in the PBA Philippine Cup at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Vosotros fired 12 points, with three of his four triples coming in the second quarter which saw the Tropang 5G pull away and eventually claim their fifth straight victory after a 0-3 start.
It’s a remarkable showing for Vosotros, who was actually not renewed by TNT following the Commissioner’s Cup title run.

The Tropang 5G also welcomed back Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser after being out for a year with an ACL injury. The big man came off the bench to produce five points and eight rebounds.
The win came despite TNT continuing to wait for the PBA to approve the deal that will send the rights to Mikey Williams to Converge for guard Jordan Heading.
Both TNT and Converge agreed on the swap two days earlier, but the trade has yet to be given the nod by the league.
Calvin Oftana finished with 15 points and 10 rebounds to put TNT closer to securing a spot in the quarterfinals. The Tropang 5G’s next game is next Friday against the Blackwater Bossing at Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
NorthPort dropped to 1-7 to miss out on a quarterfinals berth with a seventh consecutive defeat.
Calvin Abueva was not in the venue for the Batang Pier despite getting traded from the Magnolia Hotshots for William Navarro.
It also came on the same day that Arvin Tolentino was confirmed to have signed with the Seoul SK Knights of the Korean Basketball League.
Joshua Munzon scored 20 for NorthPort, which faces Phoenix on Wednesday at Philsports Arena in Pasig City.
