MANILA, Philippines—Blackwater already has a solid foundation led by the duo of Sedrick Barefield and Christian David.
The team may have just solidified its future further by selecting point guard Dalph Panopio third overall in the PBA Season 50 Rookie Draft.

Panopio provides the Bossing some steady playmaking and stability–something they lacked during their rebuilding process.
Sure, they have a solid scorer in Barefield plus a versatile adn fast-rising forward in David before, but now they have a young but experienced floor general to facilitate the offense.
“It’s interesting to see. They had top picks before and now being another new upcoming top [pick], I hope and I’ll try my best to help the team grow and develop,” said Panopio on Sunday at Mall of Asia Music Hall.

“Having so much talent like Christian David and Sedrick, I’m really excited to play with them.”
Panopio, a former national team youth mainstay, showed promise during the Combine with nifty passes and slashes to the basket and at 6-foot-1, he’s one of the taller guards in the 2025 draft class.
“Maybe something will happen but definitely, the main goal is to win; win as many games as possible,” said the 25-year-old Panopio.
