Barangay Ginebra extended its record streak of playoff appearances by dismantling Rain or Shine, 120-92, Wednesday in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup at Ynares Center in Antipolo City.
Justin Brownlee scored 20 of his 29 points in the first half while Scottie Thompson and Troy Rosario were also instrumental as the Gin Kings led from start to finish to secure their biggest win of the conference.

Ginebra bounced back from last week’s 91-85 loss to TNT in the rematch of the Governors’ Cup Finals to go 7-4, good for sixth in the standings.
It was also the 47th straight conference that Ginebra has clinched a playoff berth, a stretch that started in the 2005-06 season.

Thompson had 22 points, six rebounds and eight assists while Rosario added 14 points with seven of his eight rebounds coming from the offensive glass.
The Gin Kings face the Meralco Bolts on Jan. 29 at Smart Araneta Coliseum to conclude their elimination round assignment, a win to assure them a top six finish and avoid falling to a predicament of needing to beat their opponent twice in the quarters.
Rain or Shine fell to seventh at 6-4 with its last two matches against NLEX on Saturday at Ynares and TNT on Jan. 31 at Philsports Arena in Pasig City.
Import Deon Thompson finished with 23 points and 15 rebounds for the Elasto Painters, who need one win to assure themselves of a quarters berth.
