Import Jordan Adams dropped 50 points as San Miguel Beer came back to frustrate an all-local Blackwater side, 128-108, Sunday to create a three-way share of the lead in Group B of the PBA Governors’ Cup at Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Adams made 17 of 29 shots, including six three-pointers, as the Beermen improved to 2-0 despite going into halftime trailing the Bossing, who opted to play without an import after letting go of the anemic Ricky Ledo.

The San Miguel reinforcement also had 11 rebounds, four assists and three steals as Adams sent his team atop the group with NLEX and Rain or Shine.

CJ Perez combined with Adams in the third quarter to carry the Beermen back from a 63-56 deficit at the break despite a 3-of-14 shooting for 14 points. He had 11 in that period.

June Mar Fajardo (13), Jericho Cruz (12), Vic Manuel (10) and Kris Rosales also scored in double figures for San Miguel in a win that came before Tuesday’s marquee matchup with Barangay Ginebra at the Big Dome.

Blackwater remained at the bottom of its group with a 0-3 record, despite 25 from Troy Rosario and 16 from rookie Sedrick Barefield.

The Bossing was import-less after Ledo performed below expectations in the previous two games. Coach Jeffrey Cariaso confirmed before the game that the team is in talks with Cameron Clark to be Ledo’s replacement. Clark played for NLEX in 2022 and San Miguel in 2023.

Despite being handicapped, Blackwater was able to lead for much of the first half and 10 early in the third at 63-56, before San Miguel went on a massive run.
