Joshua Munzon came through in the clutch once more as NorthPort spoiled Justine Baltazar’s Converge debut with a 108-101 win to stay unbeaten in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup at Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
Munzon dropped back-to-back triples that broke a 97-all tie to eventually reset his career-high with 30 points as the Batang Pier extended their best start in franchise history with a perfect 5-0 record.

It was the third straight game that Munzon hit a crucial triple for NorthPort, but the back-to-back shots may have exceeded his dagger shots against Magnolia and TNT.
Import Kadeem Jack registered 32 points and 15 rebounds as the Batang Pier prevailed amid talk surrounding the long-awaited PBA appearance of Baltazar.

Baltazar had five points and four rebounds in almost 21 minutes, his playing time understandably restricted almost a week after leading the Pampanga Giant Lanterns to a second straight MPBL title.

The 6-foot-9 cager had joined Converge practices twice and recently signed a deal before team owner Dennis Anthony Uy.
The loss also put to waste a conference-high 30 points from FiberXers rookie Jordan Heading.
Arvin Tolentino also contributed 21 points and 13 rebounds with Evan Nelle adding 13 points, nine rebounds and five assists for NorthPort.
