MANILA, Philippines–Newly-installed Magnolia coach LA Tenorio has started to acquaint himself with the team a week after his appointment was made official.
Tenorio was part of the Hotshots contingent that took part in Magnolia’s 100th anniversary celebration on Monday.
A picture posted by the team’s social media accounts showed Tenorio among the Hotshots players, coaches and staff flaunting their Filipiniana attire to commmemorate the company’s landmark event.
His appearance came after San Miguel Corporation sports director Alfrancis Chua announced Tenorio’s takeover last July 28, replacing long-time mentor Chito Victolero.
Tenorio was given the role after spending more than a decade with Magnolia’s sibling rival Barangay Ginebra which saw him play the role of playing assistant coach in the last few seasons.
Jason Webb, who has been an assistant for nine seasons, was elevated into the position of team governor following the retirement of Rene Pardo after the season.
Webb was also in the event along with team manager Alvin Patrimonio plus most of the players, including veterans Paul Lee, Mark Barroca and Ian Sangalang and youngsters Jerom Lastimosa and Peter Alfaro.
Noticeably absent were Zavier Lucero, Will Navarro and Rafi Reavis.
