ANTIPOLO—Magnolia leaned on a 23-0 run in the second quarter on its way to fashioning out a 127-94 victory over Terrafirma and staying unbeaten in the PBA Philippine Cup on Sunday at Ynares Center here.
The Hotshots launched their breakaway early in that period, turning a 31-27 lead into 54-27 that put a quick end to the competitive aspect of the contest and eventually improved to a perfect 5-0 record.

Zavier Lucero continued his impressive showing this conference with 17 points and nine rebounds as Magnolia remained the only team without a loss. It was the third straight time that Lucero was named Best Player of the Game.
Paul Lee dropped 10 of his 13 in the first half while the rout allowed Jerrick Ahanmisi and Joseph Eriobu to score 11 each even as James Laput contributed nine points and five rebounds for the Hotshots.
Magnolia would lead by a high of 33 before dealing Terrafirma its fourth consecutive loss after a winning start to the tournament.
Terrafirma’s struggles only compounded its uncertain future as ownership has ongoing talks with the Zamboanga Valientes for the potential sale of its franchise before next season.

The Valientes had earlier sent a letter of intent to the league, but their route is pointing at the possible purchase of the Dyip’s lock, stock and barrel.
Louie Sangalang finished with 19 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists to remain one of the few bright spots for lowly Terrafirma.
It was the second straight lopsided win for Magnolia before a stretch of tricky games beginning next Sunday against NLEX at Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
Terrafirma, meanwhile, faces TNT on Friday at Philsports Arena in Pasig City.
