MANILA, Philippines–Javi Gomez de Liano signed a three-year contract with PBA club Magnolia, more than a week after his rights were acquired from Terrafirma.
Both Gomez de Liano and the Hotshots posted a photo of him shaking hands with team manager Alvin Patrimonio on Saturday as the deal assured the PBA returnee’s long-term future on home soil following a brief stint in South Korea.

“Home for the next 3 years,” Gomez de Liano said in an Instagram story while tagging Magnolia’s account.
Magnolia acquired Gomez de Liano in exchange for Jerrick Ahanmisi and a second round pick in the Sept. 7 Rookie Draft last Aug. 22.
Gomez de Liano played for Terrafirma from 2022 to 2024 before jumping to the Korean Basketball League with Anyang Jung Kwan Jang to play one season.

He had been moving from one team to another since playing for the Ibaraki Robots of Japan’s B.League in 2021.
The Hotshots are banking on Gomez de Liano to shore up the team for upcoming 50th season under new coach LA Tenorio, who took over from Chito Victolero.
His new deal came amid the entry of his younger brother Juan in the Draft where he is projected to be among the early picks.
