MANILA, Philippines—TNT big man Poy Erram may be out for about a year after tearing his left anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) during the PBA Philippine Cup Finals.

During the halftime of Game 6 between the Tropang 5G and San Miguel Beer, Erram told the Inquirer that Saturday’s examination showed a torn left ACL after the initial diagnosis of a meniscal tear.

“I just found out yesterday,” said Erram.

“Usually that injury lasts for about a year, so I might be out for a year,” he added in Filipino.

Erram sustained the injury during Game 4 of the series when he tried to play through with a twisted right ankle.

Although he didn’t aggravate that same ankle in their 105-91 loss to the Beermen at Mall of Asia Arena, he suffered an even crucial injury in his left leg.

In Erram’s last game before the ACL tear, he finished with six points and four rebounds.
