MANILA, Philippines—To say that Robert Bolick was disappointed after NLEX’s loss to Rain or Shine in the PBA Philippine Cup quarterfinals would be an understatement.

On Wednesday, the Road Warriors dropped what could’ve been an outright ticket to the semifinals after faltering to the Elasto Painters, 92-89.

Bolick, visibly frustrated, was the first to exit the NLEX dugout and declined to speak with reporters.

The NLEX guard had a cold-shooting night, finishing with 15 points on a lowly 25 percent field goal shooting clip. He sank just five of his 20 tries from the hardwood.

To rub more salt into the wound, the sharpshooting guard went blank from the three-point area in eight attempts.

Rookie Xyrus Torres was the high-point man for NLEX in the loss with 20 points while Javee Mocon helped with 16 points and 11 rebounds, but to no avail.

Bolick and the Road Warriors, thanks to their twice-to-beat advantage, still have a chance to lock in a semifinals seat this Saturday at Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
