MANILA, Philippines–The PBA expressed sadness in the alleged shooting incident involving NorthPort’s John Amores in his home province of Laguna.

PBA commissioner Willie Marcial’s comments, however, were short when the league released a statement Thursday, hours after Amores surrendered to authorities in Lumban, Laguna.

A police report said that Amores along with his younger brother had a heated argument with a male individual over a call in a basketball game. The two underwent inquest proceedings Thursday.

It is unknown the nature of game Amores played, but PBA rules prohibits its players from taking part in games unsanctioned by the league.

Amores’ involvement came two years after he ran amok during an NCAA game while playing for Jose Rizal University against College of St. Benilde.
