MONTALBAN—Rodney Brondial produced a rare double-double as San Miguel Beer crushed Terrafirma, 128-89, on Sunday in the PBA Philippine Cup before a packed crowd at Ynares Center II here.
Brondial finished with 16 points and 22 rebounds that enabled him to give star center June Mar Fajardo a breather as the Beermen improved to 5-2 for third place while dealing the hapless Dyip another blowout defeat.

Fajardo had a quiet 12-point, 12-rebound, four-assist showing while CJ Perez and Mo Tautuaa topscored with 17 points apiece. Tautuaa added eight rebounds and two steals.
San Miguel broke its tie with Barangay Ginebra while taking another week-long break before facing Blackwater next Sunday at Philsports Arena in Pasig City.
The Beermen broke out of the gates with a 9-2 lead before extending the gap to 24-9 on their way to an easy win.
Terrafirma once again had another listless showing and fell to 1-7 as its skid continued since opening the conference with a win over Phoenix.

The Dyip hiked their average margin of defeat to 31.3 points per contest.
Rookie guard Mark Nonoy finished with a game-high 24 points for Terrafirma, which will next play Converge on May 28 at Philsports.
Louie Sangalang, Terrafirma’s unquestioned star amid the struggles, had 10 points, 14 rebounds and six assists.
