MANILA, Philippines — Ara Galang remained hungry for more as Chery Tiggo made the most of its second chance in the play-in to forge a best-of-three quarterfinals duel with defending champion Creamline in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference.
Galang poured in 20 points off 16 spikes, three blocks, and an ace as Chery Tiggo took down Farm Fresh, 29-27, 15-25, 25-22, 25-21, to complete a play-in sweep and advance to the quarterfinals as the No. 8 seed on Tuesday at Philsports Arena.
“I’m happy because I can see that all of us really wanted to win. We’re all working hard together because that’s what matters — no one is giving up,” said Galang in Filipino. “Everyone is willing to push through every point, so I’m happy that our team is here, and there’s still room for improvement.”

With renewed firepower, Galang the Crossovers are out to make the most of their quarterfinals series against the Cool Smashers, who are going for their fifth straight All-Filipino title.
“We’re even [in a best-of-three series]. Even though they’re the defending champions, what’s important is how we start as a team. We’ll show what we’re capable of and what we can work on together as a team. Whoever we face, we’re sure it will work out as long as we don’t give up on each other and continue helping one another,” said the former La Salle star.
Chery Tiggo and Creamline kick off their race-to-two-wins series on March 18 at the same venue in Pasig City.
Despite being relegated to the play-in round after losing to Choco Mucho in the qualifying round, Galang believes the Crossovers are prepared to face a bigger challenge in the quarterfinals.

“The last two games were important because they tested our team’s character. Secondly, it helped sharpen our teamwork and individual skills. When we work well individually, that’s how the team comes together,” she said.
Besides Galang, Chery Tiggo will turn to Shaya Adorador, who stepped up big time in the play-in and had 18 points, 13 digs, and 11 excellent receptions to clinch a quarterfinal berth.
“[The play-in] was really important for us to experience that intense game. We saw in both Nxled and Farm Fresh that they really wanted to win, too. Our team never backed down during those tight moments,” said Adorador in Filipino. “I just drew strength from each of my teammates who were showing they really wanted to win, and from the coaches who patiently focused on us during every training.“
“Creamline is not an easy opponent, especially since they’re made up of veteran players. We’ll work hard again in training and start with ourselves,” she added.
