PVL: Creamline fans hot streak with sweep of Farm Fresh

MANILA, Philippines–Creamline continued its rampage in the PVL All-Filipino Conference with its ninth straight win via a 25-15, 25-19, 27-25 victory over Farm Fresh Tuesday night at PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.

“Yung experience sa mga ganong laban nandiyan palagi so happy kami at naka-recover kami sa dikitang laban kasi lumamang pa yung Farm Fresh so nag respond naman yung mga players naka-recover,” Creamline coach Sherwin Meneses said.

Jema Galanza waxed hot with 15 points from 12 attacks, two aces and a block to help the league-leading Cool Smashers remain perfect at 9-0.

“Kailangan ko lang talaga ibangon yung sarili ko kasi hindi ko nakukuha yung laro ko mga past few games and ngayon thankful ako kay coach na binibigyan niya ako ng chance na makuha ulit and ng teammates ko,” Galanza said.

This is also the 19th straight win by the defending champions dating back to the last Reinforced Conference.

Kyle Negrito came up with eight points, aside from 15 excellent sets, like Alyssa Valdez. Tots Carlos and Bernadeth Pons finished with seven points apiece.

Creamline easily had control of the first two sets but the Foxies were not planning on giving up without a fight in the third frame.

It was a back-and-forth affair as Farm Fresh even had the lead multiple times down the stretch until Galanza nailed the two final points with a cross-court attack and the game-deciding ace.

Caitlin Viray was the only Foxie to end up in twin digits with 11 points as they absorbed their sixth loss in 10 games.

Creamline guns for its 20th straight victory on Saturday against PLDT at Ynares Center in Antipolo City while Farm Fresh aims to bounce back next Tuesday when it takes on Capital1 at Philsports Arena.
