“I just kept a strong mindset. Since I was part of the starting six in my first game, I was nervous, but Coach Sherwin (Meneses) just told me to play my game and do my best,” Toring told reporters in Filipino.
Creamline coach Sherwin Meneses drafted the middle blocker from National University as their 12th overall pick, a month after the Lady Bulldogs ruled the UAAP Season 87 women’s volleyball tournament.
“I’m happy because she’s continuing her career with us. Hopefully, we can help her grow even more and improve on things we were already working on with her back in NU. We’ll also integrate her into our system here at Creamline,” said Meneses of the three-time UAAP champion.
Besides Meneses, Toring relished playing with her 10-time champion teammates Jema Galanza, Michele Gumabao, Alyssa Valdez, Pangs Panaga, and Kyle Negrito.

The NU lifer vows to meet “big expectations” and help the Cool Smashers return to the top after losing the All-Filipino Conference title.
“I feel super blessed. I’m really thankful to God because Creamline is my first pro team. There are big expectations, so I just need to keep improving every day,” she said.
Toring and the Cool Smashers gun for a 2-0 record in Pool B against the Akari Chargers on Monday at 6:30 p.m.
