MANILA, Philippines — The Premier Volleyball League is bringing its 12 squads on the road for a nationwide preseason campaign dubbed “PVL on Tour,” set to run from July to September.
PVL president Ricky Palou announced Tuesday that the league will hold preseason games in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao as it supports the national team’s preparations for a busy year, including the Southeast Asian Games in Thailand.

“Most of the games will be held outside of Metro Manila. We’re gonna play in the Visayas and Mindanao, also in Luzon. So this will go all the way until about September,” said Palou during the Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) Forum.
Palou added that the Invitational Conference is being considered as the final leg of the preseason. The top four teams in the tour could be selected to face two foreign guest squads in the invitational tournament.
“We’re trying to study if we can make it an invitational tournament, so we’re looking at the top four for the invitationals and then we’ll invite foreign teams to come in,” he said.
Men’s World Championship ‘break’
The PVL will pause after the tour to give way to the country’s historic hosting of the 2025 FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship, scheduled from September 12 to 28 at Mall of Asia Arena and Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The import-laden Reinforced Conference will follow in October and run until the end of the year.
“We take a break to give way to the Men’s World Championship. After that, we will resume our third conference, which will be the Reinforced Conference,” said Palou.
It has already been a packed season for the PVL, which recently concluded its longest tournament yet—the 2024–25 All-Filipino Conference—won by Petro Gazz. The league also hosted the AVC Champions League, where local teams Petro Gazz, Creamline, and PLDT represented the Philippines.
Last week, the league honored its top performers at the inaugural PVL Press Corps Awards Night, led by Season MVP Brooke Van Sickle.
The second PVL Rookie Draft is set for Sunday, featuring 60 hopefuls, including three-time UAAP MVP Bella Belen, chasing their pro dreams.
