“I thought ZUS did an amazing job. They definitely pushed us physically and mentally. Teams like that, it can be hard effort throughout the entire game especially as a hitter. I thought we stayed pretty composed even though how tired we are,” the Filipino-American spiker said.
“We didn’t wanna show it. I thought Myla did a fantastic job, we had a lot of swings and long rallies just to be able to stay focused, stay together as a team. It was a good win, they pushed us very, very hard,” she added.

Pablo moved Petro Gazz closer to victory with a kill grazing the hands of the defenders, 22-19. Jov Gonzaga responded with emphatic kills of her own before Van Sickle took the Angels to match point and with a cross-court kill, ended the two-hour and 18 minute matchup.
“[My motivation is] what our coaches always tell us—to work hard and contribute on the court, especially for Brooke and me,” Pablo said. “Since we handle the receptions, the ball always comes to us, so we need to stay consistent as open hitters and give our best to win this game.”
“Kudos to ZUS because their preparation for this match was really intense, and their defense was strong. But we really wanted to win this game,” she added.
The Thunderbelles showed tremendous fight behind Kate Santiago’s 21 points apart from 10 excellent digs and Chai Troncoso’s 19 points but those efforts were not enough to stop them from dropping to a 4-5 card.
Cloanne Mondoñedo tossed 12 excellent sets.
Petro Gazz guns for a seventh consecutive win next Tuesday against Capital1 still at PhilSports Arena while ZUS Coffee looks to come back from the loss against depleted Cignal on Feb. 13 at Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
