MANILA, Philippines — The PVL postponed its three Pool A games of the 2024 Reinforced Conference scheduled for Thursday at Philsports Arena due to unfavorable weather conditions caused by Typhoon Carina.
The league on Wednesday announced that its triple-header won’t push through as the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) earlier raised a red rainfall warning over Metro Manila and surrounding provinces with serious flooding expected in flood-prone areas.
“Due to the inclement weather brought by Typhoon Carina, all Premier Volleyball League games scheduled for Thursday, July 25, have been postponed and will be moved to a later date,” the league announced.

“Possible scenarios include a 4-game day schedule on specific days or an additional game day to accommodate the postponed games.”
PLDT was supposed to gun for win No.3 in Pool A against Farm Fresh, which is winless in two games, at 1 p.m., while Creamline (1-1) and Nxled, who both hold identical 1-1 records, fight for their second win at 3 p.m.
Chery Tiggo was scheduled to take on the winless Galeries Tower (0-2) at 5 p.m.
The three Pool A games will be scheduled for a later date.

On a rainy Tuesday, Akari and Cignal remained unbeaten in two games in Pool B as the Chargers pulled off a come-from-behind 18-25, 16-25, 25-21, 25-23, 15-13 win over the Choco Mucho Flying Titans behind the 38-point explosion of Oly Okaro.
The HD Spikers banked on MJ Perez’s 30-point outburst to stave off the ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles, 25-18, 29-27, 21-25, 25-22.
Meanwhile, Capital1 earned its biggest win in franchise history after upsetting two-time defending champion Petro Gazz, 26-24, 25-20, 25-18, for identical 1-1 cards.
