MANILA, Philippines — Trisha Genesis was grateful to finally see action for Capital1 in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference despite getting swept by Creamline, 19-25, 19-25, 18-25, on Tuesday at Philsports Arena.
After a long wait since leaving Nxled, Genesis made her debut as a Solar Spiker and carried the team with 10 points in a losing effort–their fifth in six games.

“Super happy, really excited to be back on the taraflex and to play with my new team. For the game we played today, I think it went well because we kept up, knowing that Creamline is the defending champion,” said Genesis.
“It’s fresh again in the PVL because of the new system, new teammates, and even new coaches I’ve never worked with before. It really feels like starting from zero,” she added.
Genesis, whose transfer was made official a few days ago, said she transferred from Nxled to Capital1 due to personal reasons.

“It was really difficult, and it was a long process before I was able to move here. Finally, whatever the problem was has been resolved, and now, I can play,” she said.
The former Adamson spiker is honored to play under coach Roger Gorayeb, who trusted her right in her first game.
“I’m happy because coach just lets us train. He gives us the instructions, and then it’s up to us. When he sees that you’re giving your all, even in training, he gets really happy and doesn’t need to say anything,” Genesis said.
“From the moment I transferred, his trust in me was immediate and full. Thank you so much, coach, and to my teammates because they really accepted me wholeheartedly. Their trust in me isn’t just half, but 101 percent.”
Genesis is eager to help Capital1, which has five more games in the elimination round including their next against ZUS Coffee on Saturday.
“My goal is to return the effort, the things they’ve done for me, and the trust they’ve given me, especially the owners. Every game, I’ll make sure to play my best and give 101 percent,” she said.
