The Black Bears welcomed the addition of Millora-Brown, who played for Vanderbilt and The Citadel in the US before leading UP to a title run in UAAP Season 87. He averaged 8.6 points and 10.1 rebounds before the finals, and posted 14.0 points and 9.0 boards in the three-game championship series to dethrone La Salle.
“He will join the team for the upcoming TAT [The Asian Tournament] Shanxi stop and the highly anticipated July 28 matchup against the Philippine national team, anchoring the Black Bears’ frontcourt with strength and versatility,” the team said.
The Filipino-American big man made an immediate impact in his debut for the Black Bears, finishing with 20 points and 17 rebounds in their 121-105 victory over the Aces in The Asian Tournament on Tuesday in China.
Millora-Brown, who previously expressed his intent to play for Gilas and was also considered for the national pool, was recently classified as a naturalized player, according to several reports.
