The Strong Group Athletics team is set to present the Philippines in the William Jones Cup 2024 basketball tournament in Taiwan from July 13 to 21.

This year, the Philippines, Japan, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, Malaysia, Australia and host Taiwan are sending representatives to the annual tournament.

The nine teams–which include two teams from Taiwan–will compete in a single-round robin format with the best-performing team winning the title.

Strong Group Athletics, coached by Charles Tiu, is bannered by overseas players Kiefer Ravena, Angelo Kouame, Rhenz Abando, Jordan Heading, Dave Ildefonso and RJ Abarrientos.

Earlier this year, Strong Group Athletics–led by former NBA superstar Dwight Howard–also represented the Philippines in the  Dubai International Basketball Championship where it lost to Al Riyadi of Lebanon in the final.

The last time a Philippine team won the Jones Cup was in 2019 when Mighty Sports ruled the tournament.
