MANILA, Philippines — Shaira Jardio has been everywhere protecting National University’s floor at all costs this UAAP Season 87 women’s volleyball tournament.
Jardio was No. 10 in the first-round statistical race with 106.400 statistical points, leading the Best Libero race with 205 position points.
After a solid first round, Jardio is not satisfied with her performance, seeking to grow more under decorated coach Sherwin Meneses.

“For me, I’m not satisfied with my performance yet. I want to keep improving with the help of Coach Sherwin,” said Jardio.
The third-year libero helped NU bounce back from a tough first defeat to the University of the Philippines as she collected 27 digs and 12 excellent receptions to stave off Far Eastern University, 25-22, 24-26, 26-24, 25-18, on Sunday at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
“We’re working hard, so we focused on the FEU game and also on improving our performance today. We’ll work even harder for our next game,” she said.

Jardio’s main motivation is to help Bella Belen and Co. win another championship this year before they graduate.
“My motivation is to go back-to-back. I always tell myself to just focus on working hard and doing my role well. I really want to connect more with Ate Lams because we’re key players on the court. Coach Sherwin always tells me to stay in my position because that’s where I’ll learn and grow,” Jardio said.
