After UST lost its first game to Far Eastern University last week where two-time MVP Ybañez suffered a grade 2 sprain in his right ankle, rookie JJ Macam led the balanced attack of the Golden Spikes to improve to a 1-1 record.

“I stand by my statement that I have the best lineup this season. Anyone can step up for us. I’m happy they bounced back from our previous loss. Very satisfied ako with today’s performance,” said UST coach Odjie Mamon.
Ybañez is out for two weeks and remains doubtful in their match against La Salle on Wednesday at Mall of Asia Arena.
UE dropped to a 0-2 record, absorbing its ninth straight loss dating back to Season 86 March last year.
Roy Piojo was the lone double-digit scorer with 13 points as they gun for their first win against Adamson also on Wednesday.
